First Step and Highland Dance School
Canberra

Welcome

We are First Step and Highland Dance School, a dance school for children 2 years to adults. We cater for all levels and abilities. Dancers can choose to dance purely for fun and fitness, do exams, perform or compete, there is an option for everyone!

At First Step we believe that dancing should be a part of every child's life and that just as children take their first steps, so to do they start to embrace a love of movement and dance. At First Step we believe that the basics and fundamental techniques can, and should, be taught  while children explore and develop their sense of movement and rhythm.

For us this is not only a job but also our passion, putting the fun in fundamentals and creating connections with our students to instil a lifelong love of dance. Highland dancing enables you to make new friends, build strength, fitness and coordination while having a great time. We believe children and adults of all ages should experience that fun too!
